Connections from Mahendranagar: Bardia National Park (190 km east, 3–4 hrs by bus). Nepalgunj (180 km east, 3–4 hrs). Overnight buses to Kathmandu (12–15 hrs). From India: Nainital (130 km), Haldwani (120 km), Bareilly (240 km) are the main approach cities via Tanakpur or Banbasa. Note: Road conditions west of Nepalgunj can be poor in the monsoon (July–September). Plan accordingly.
